the Hudson-Chatham Winery, which is reopening for the season on
Saturday, April 5, and will be open every weekend in April from
11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays and noon to 5:00 pm on Sundays.
To kick off the season, the winery is hosting a Culinary Salute
to Spring on Saturday, April 5. In addition to a regular tasting,
there will be a selection of complementary savory and sweet spring

a Puppet Show
The
Taconic Hills Performing Arts Center will feature the Spring Valley
Puppet Theater who will present a contemporary twist to the timeless
classic, Jack and the Beanstalk on Saturday, April 12. This
award winning production of a popular classic holds many surprises
with the use of beautifully crafted hand and rod puppets, colorful
scenic design, special effects and an original script in which Jack,
with help of a clever chicken, saves the day. Jack in the
Beanstalk runs 35-40 minutes and is recommended for audience members
ages 5 and up. Immediately following the production Michael
Graham, Director of Spring Valley Puppet Theater will host a short

The Ghent Playhouse will feature
"6 Women with Brain Death or Expiring Minds Want to Know" through
April 13. "6 Women" is an irreverent look at contemporary
life and pop culture from a feminine standpoint. In the writer's
point of view, life for the modern American woman can be as bizarre
as tabloid newspaper headlines. It's a world of cowgirls and
toll road runaways, prom queens and genetically challenged Ken and
Barbie dolls, and a detour through a Disney-fied forest where Bambi

a Tour of the County's Industrial Sites
The
Columbia County Historical Society will host a tour of industrial
sites in Columbia County based on Peter Stott's book, "Looking
for Work: Industrial Archeology in Columbia County, New York"
on Saturday, April 12. The tour will run from 9:00 am to 4:00
pm and will stop for lunch at Local 111 Restaurant in Philmont.

Enjoy a Family House Tour
Olana
State Historic Site will host a Family House Tour of Olana on Saturday,
April 12 at 10:00 am. Enjoy an Olana house tour specifically
geared toward children and families. Pre-registration is required
by 4:00 pm on the preceding Friday. Children must be accompanied
by an adult. Admission is free for members of the Olana Partnership.
$7 adults, $5 students/seniors, and children under 12 are free.

Copake Auction will host the 17th
annual Antique & Classic Bicycle Auction on Saturday, April
12 at 10:00 am. The Swap Meet will be held on Friday, April
11 from dawn to dusk. The Auction will offer over 16 highwheels

& The Small Revolution Expo
Miracle Tomato & The Small Revolution Expo is the first event
of its kind in the region. It will bring together local farms,
restaurants, green businesses and initiatives, climate change organizations,
scholars, activists and artists - all those who are shaping our
collective futures in the areas of food quality, safety and availability
and sustainable solutions for home, school, work, agriculture and
municipalities. The Miracle Tomato play will be held on Friday,
April 25 at and Saturday, April 26 at the Basilica in Hudson. The
Small Revolution Expo will take place on Saturday, April 26 only
from 2:00 pm to 6:30 pm and will include a lecture by Craig Holdrege
of the Nature Institute, followed by a round table discussion. For

Time
and Space Limited will feature Met Opera - La Fille du Regiment

the Annual Sheep & Wool Showcase
Clermont State Historic Site
will host the annual Chancellor's Sheep & Wool Showcase on Saturday,
April 26 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. The rain date is April
27. The Showcase is one of Clermont's most popular events
and draws about 2,000 visitors to see costumed reenactors, live
animals, spinning, herding, and shearing demonstrations. Enjoy great
food and live music, shop at over 20 vendors of fine fiber products,
and a silent auction. Bring the kids for an afternoon of family
