Ski for
a Good Cause
On
Sunday, February 3, Catamount Ski Area will host "Soup Bowl
Sunday" to help replenish food pantries located in Hillsdale
and Great Barrington, MA. Each person that brings 3 non-perishable
food items to Catamount will receive $10 off the price of their
lift ticket. A Chinese raffle and a Taste of the Berkshire
Buffet will also take place that day in Catamount's Tavern with
proceeds being donated to the Hillsdale Food Pantry and the People's
Pantry in Great Barrington. Cost for the buffet is a $10 donation.
Pepsi Cola will also be in attendance with giveaways and prizes

The
Copake Auction House will feature a catalogued Americana auction
on Saturday, February 9 at 5:00 pm. The auction will feature
18th & 19th century formal and country furniture, artwork, folk
art, textiles, period accessories and more. A snow date has

a Ballroom Dance
Hudson Valley Academy of Performing
Arts will host a Ballroom Dance every second Saturday. The
next date is scheduled for February 9. Admission is only $10
and gets you lessons from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, dance until 10:00 pm.

New for 2008 is Cardio Hip Hop classes. They will be
held Monday nights from 7:30 to 8:30 pm. Have fun and dance

Time
and Space Limited will feature a family-friendly performance of
Dog on Fleas on Saturday, February 9 at 2:00 pm. Dog on Fleas
is a fun mishmash that gets kids dancing and thinking. A smorgasbord
of instruments including fiddle, drums, trombone, saxophone, congas,
bass guitar, piano, pots and pans, and plenty of singing, in musical
styles ranging from calypso to zydeco, old-time fiddle songs to

The Ghent Playhouse will feature "Picnic"
now through February 10. The play begins with Hal arriving
in a small Southern town to visit Alan, his old college friend.
Hal is hoping to secure a steady job working for Alan's father,
but his rough manners and good looks quickly get him into trouble.
He becomes attracted to Alan's fiancee Madge, the prettiest girl
in town, and is likewise adored by Millie, Madge's younger sister
and Rosemary, a teacher who rents a room from their mother.

Hudson Opera House will feature an evening of classic jazz standards

the 2nd Annual Hudson Valley Cheese Festival
The
2nd Annual Hudson Valley Cheese Festival returns to Hudson on Sunday,
February 17 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. The event is a fundraiser
for Columbia County Bounty, an organization working to support Columbia
County farmers and communities affiliated with the Chamber of Commerce.
The event will feature a selection of fine cheeses, wines and culinary
delights from local restaurants. Last year's event sold out
quickly, so contact the Chamber today to reserve your ticket.

Day
Olana State Historic Site will
host a House Tour of Olana Friday, February 15 through Sunday, February
17 at 1:00 pm. When the U.S. Civil War broke out in 1861,
all citizens were affected in some way and artist Frederic Edwin
Church was no exception. Join Olana for themed tours that
shed a little light on the influence of the Civil War on Church

a good laugh? See the show that puts the comedy back in musical
comedy! The hit of the Copake Theatre's Company 2003-04 season
is back by popular demand. Elise Dewsberry flies in from Los
Angeles to star in the Company's one woman musical "Nine Months"
Dewsberry plays three very different women going through the joys
and tribulations of pregnancy. Light-hearted, laugh-out-loud
humorous for men as well as women and ultimately touching, Nine
Months has played hundreds of performances in theaters from California
to Nova Scotia. The show will be featured from February 22
