See a Performance

The Taconic Hills Performing Arts Center hosts an evening of Tap and Hip Hop dance performed by master choreographers Debra Hughes and Todd Shanks on Friday, June 1 at 7:00 pm.  The dance program choreographed by Hughes, will include pieces danced by select Taconic Hills School students.  Admission is $5 for students and $8 for adults.  For more information about Taconic Hill Performing Arts Center call (518) 325-0447 visit their website at www.taconichills.k12.ny.us.

Attend the Olde Kinderhook Fair

The KinderCrafter Fair, sponsored by the Kinderhook Business and Professional Association will be held on Saturday, June 2 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  The KinderCrafter Fair is designed to raise funds for community charities and to kickoff the summer festivities in the historic Village of Kinderhook.  The day includes many events including a 5K Road Race, Farmers Market, Ichabod Crane Art Department exhibit, and much more.  Vendors offer a wide variety of handcrafted home decor products, jewelry, candles, clothing, food items, gardening items and more.  For more information about the Kinderhook Business and Professional Association visit their website at www.kbpa.org.

Enjoy Nature

Attend Performance Events

Performing Spaces for the 21st Century, PS/21 opens its second tent season with Bachanalia, an inspiring 10-day retreat devoted to Johann Sebastian and his far-reaching legacy from June 1-10.  The 10-day event will feature four weekend concerts, two free films, jazz improvisation, symposia and free "taste of Baroque" mini-recitals.  The many-session event will bring together distinguished artists and scholars from around the world.  For tickets or more information about PS/21 call (518) 392-6121 or visit their website at www.ps21chatham.org.


Celebrate Flag Day

Enjoy the Hudson-Athens Flag Day celebration on June 8-10.  On June 8 from 5:00 to 10:00 pm enjoy a riverfront midway, youth music and art, and a sunset fire on the river.  On June 9 from 12:00 to 10:00 pm enjoy the Flag Day Parade, youth programs, midway, car show, music, air show and riverfont fireworks.  The parade steps off at 4:00 pm.  Finally on June 10 from 10:00 to 5:00 pm come and watch the GO-Zero Grand Prix Kayak Race Series for the Flag Day Cup and much more!  For more information about Flag Day Weekend call (518) 965-3009.

Columbia Arts Team will feature a Country Coffeehouse concert on June 14 and  a Teen Coffee House Concert on June 16.  These monthly showcases feature local and professional musicians.  The Teen Coffee House features local teen bands and singer/songwriters perform for all ages.  Both performances will be held at the Spencertown Academy.   For more information about Columbia Arts Team call (518) 329-5484 or visit their website at www.columbiaartsteam.org.

Enjoy Cabaret

The Spencertown Academy will feature Cabaret in the Country on Saturday, June 23 at 6:00 pm. Dance the Night Away

Learn about Agriculture


Join us for the 8th annual Agricultural Awareness Tour on Saturday, June 30.  Attendees will enjoy a back roads tour of the County and the tour will stop at three specific sites for guided tours.  Participants will get an in-depth look into Markristo Farm, Holmquest Farms and Hawthorne Valley Farm.  The tour departs from Hawthorne Valley Farm at 10:00 am and returns at 1:00 pm.  Tickets are $15 and includes tour transportation and a box lunch of local products.  For more information or to make a reservation contact the Columbia County Chamber at (518) 828-4417 or visit the website at www.columbiachamber-ny.com.
