Attend a Plant Swap
Cornell
Cooperative Extension will host the annual Spring Master Gardner
Plant Swap on Saturday, May 5 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The
swap provides a great opportunity to pick up and/or exchange some
unique and interesting plant material as well as to interact informally
with the Master Gardener volunteers. In addition to the plant
swap, the 4-H Interstate Exchange Teens will hold a Giant Tag Sale

the Celebration of Celts
Celebration of Celts , the largest Pan-Celtic festival in
the northeast will hold their annual festival on Saturday, May 5
and Sunday, May 6 at Meadowgreens Golf Resort. Celebration
of Celts is a festival of history, heritage, music and dance and
is jammed packed with everything from roaring dragons to rocking
Celtic Fusion, Jousting, the MaltCellar where you can taste the
best in single malts, massed pipebands, living history with the

Take a History Hike
To celebrate National Historic
Preservation Week, Olana State Historic Site invites you to explore
the carriage trails that meander through the 250-acre estate and
learn their use back in Frederic Church's day. The hike will
be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 1:00 pm. The hike lasts approximately
2 hours and involves significant physical activity. Bring
water and snacks. This program is offered to the community

The Spencertown Academy will
host Finest Kind a traditional music folk trio from Ottawa on Friday,
May 18 at 7:30 pm. They offer exquisite harmony singing and
brilliant vocal arrangements that bring a fresh sense of excitement
and discovery to the performance of old songs. The cost is

The Ghent Playhouse will feature
"See How They Run", a madcap british farce. Set
in an English village, "See How They Run" is about mistaken
identities, many of them; all of them involving men wearing clerical
dog-collars. The show opens on Friday, May 18 at 8:00 pm and
runs through Sunday, June 3 at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $15 for

Stageworks/Hudson
will feature the regional premiere of "Elliot, A Soldier's
Fugue" starting Wednesday, May 23 and run through June 10.
At 18, Lance Corporal Elliot Ortiz saw combat for the first time,

Columbia Arts Team will present
Saturday Night Liv on Thursday, May 24. Saturday Night Liv
offers an evening of music, original comedy and variety sketches
featuring The Really Convincing Players, hosted by Liv Cummings.
The show is fun for the whole family. The show will also be
presented on Saturday, May 26, Thursday, May 31 and Saturday, June
2 at the Spencertown Academy. Tickets are $20 and $15 for
seniors and students. All performances begin at 7:30 pm.

Attend a Breakfast
Clermont State Historic Site will present
an Early Buyers Breakfast at the Hudson Bush Plant Sale and Garden
Exchange on Saturday, May 26. Beat the rush and join them

year's plant sale. The breakfast will be served between 9:00

The Mac-Haydn Theatre will feature "110 In The Shade" from May 24-27

Attend the 17th Annual Shad Bake and
Country BBQ
The Columbia Land Conservancy will host the 17th annual
Shad Bake and Country Barbecue on Sunday, May 27 at Kinderhook Farm
in Ghent. Starting at 4:30 pm, guests will enjoy a festive
atmosphere featuring live music from local bands. Children's
activities will include river otter activities, a petting zoo, a
birds of prey demonstration and much more. Adults can peruse
the silent auction, listen to live music and enjoy the beautiful
setting. Dinner includes grilled shad, salads, pulled pork,
shad roe, barbecued chicken and much more. Delicious hors d'oeuvres
