Attend the Golden Gathering
The fifteenth annual Columbia County Golden Gathering, sponsored
by State Senator Stephen Saland, will be held on Saturday, November
3 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at Columbia-Greene Community College.
Highlights of the gathering include a variety of free health testing,
demonstrations, entertainment, refreshments and informational tables
specific to the interests and needs of senior citizens. For more

Walking
the Dog Theater will feature "The Taming of the Shrew"
from November 9 through November 25. The performances will
take place in residence at Stageworks/Hudson. This much beloved
comedy, will feature an international all-female cast of ten.

Take
a Studio Tour of Local Artists
The
Columbia Berkshire Crafts Guild, will host its 5th annual Studio
Tour during Veteran's Day weekend, November 10-11. Tour participants
will get an intimate look into the artist's creative process as
they visit the twelve venues and see the work of 19 guild members.
Tickets are now available for $10. The Studio Tour will kickoff
with a brunch from 9:30 to 11:00 am on Saturday, November 10 at
the Spencertown Academy. A panel discussion of arts professionals
will be featured during the breakfast. Breakfast is open to
al tour ticket holders. Any ticket holder who completes the
entire tour will be eligible to take home one of the beautiful donated
pieces. Participants will be able to visit artists around

Spend
a Weekend in the Country
Columbia
County Council on the Arts and Columbia County Department of Tourism
present Weekends in the Country through December 2. Each weekend

Stair
Galleries will feature an Exposition Auction on Friday, November
16 at 6:00 pm. The auction will feature an extensive collection
of Wedgwood Jasperware, Delft and other faience drug jars, fine
china, cut and pressed glassware, lighting to include chandeliers
and sconces, a small collection of clocks, brass, and copperware
as well as a collection of Native American blankets, woods and terra
cotta, African and Mexican tribal art, quilts, rugs of various size
and age, books, furniture from period to reproduction of fine are

Attend a Charity Auction
The Copake Auction House will
host the 8th Annual Roe Jan Area Charity Auction on Saturday, November
17. The pot luck dinner begins at 5:00 pm and the auction
starts at 6:30 pm. 100% of the money earned from donated items
will be given to local charities. No commission is charged.
Items can be donated by individuals wishing to contribute to a charity
of their choice or collected by a local charity, and given to them

The Ghent
Playhouse will feature the Pantoloons new production "Hair
Loom! Rapunzel and Rumpelstiltskin in Dis Tress" from Friday,
November 23 through Sunday, December 9. A Pantoloon's production
at Thanksgiving has now become a holiday tradition in Columbia County.
"Hair Loom!" is the Pantoloons eighth British-American
Panto in Columbia County. The Pantoloons productions are for
children 3 to 103 years and audience participation is encouraged.

Take a Winter Walk on Warren Street
Get
ready for a Winter Walk on Warren Street on Saturday, December 1
from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Hudson's main street will be transformed
into a winter wonderland, as the Hudson Opera House "A Winter Walk
on Warren Street", the eagerly-awaited kick-off to the holiday season
in historic Hudson. Always held on the first Saturday in December,
this festive holiday celebration is now in its ninth year and become
a premier event in the Hudson Valley. Winter Walk features
dancers, storytellers, and musicians performing in shop windows,
horse-drawn carriage rides, live reindeer and a Santa Parade.
Groups of carolers stroll the streets, along with the walking Grandfather
Clock, the Gingerbread Boy and other characters. There is much to
