The 13th annual
ArtsWalk, an 11-day festival of visual and performing arts kicked
off on Friday, September 28 and runs through Monday, October 8.
ArtsWalk starts with its third annual benefit dinner, Eat For Art.
Joining the Pocketbook Factory as a site for art will be the 30,000
square foot former Cannonball Factory. For the first time
Columbia County Council on the Arts is organizing three types of
shows distributed between the two magical buildings: the Members
Open Show, the Juried Art Show, and a series of Curated Shows -
themed shows chosen by area artists and curators. For additional

Performance
The
Ghent Playhouse will feature "Over the River and Through the
Woods", from October 5 through October 21. The play is
about Nick Cristano, an Italian-American who works and lives in
New York near both sets of grandparents who live in Hoboken, New
Jersey. As the only remaining younger family member left in
the area, he has family dinner with all of them every Sunday.
When Nick is offered an excellent job on the West Coast he must
now tell his grandparents that he has to move away. This play
is about family, traditions and love, and the struggle that Nick
makes to both love his family and yet live as an individual.

Hawthorne Valley's Farm Festival
Hawthorne
Valley Association will host the annual Farm Festival on Saturday,
October 6. A school open house will also be held that day,
rain or shine. The Farm Festival will run from 11:00 am to
4:00 pm and is a day of fun and education, filled with activities
for the entire family. There will be a theatre presentation
by Walking the Dog Theater, music from local musicians, Sky Hunters
in Flight, an outdoor demonstration with live raptors, pumpkin carving,
apple-cider making, horse-rides, hay maze, tours, delicious baked

the 31st Annual Hudson Valley Old Time Power Association Day
The Hudson Valley Old Time Power Association will host the 31st
Annual Old Time Days on Saturday, October 6 and Sunday October 7.
You can see operating exhibits of antique engines, tractors, farm
implements, old fashioned handcrafts, including lumber milling,
iron working, woodworking, quilting and letterpress printing.
The event will be held on Fingar Road in Hudson. For

Come and immerse yourself in
the entertaining atmosphere of 27 eclectic Art Galleries in the
City of Hudson during 1st Saturday Art Crawl. Galleries will

Copake Theatre Company will present "I Do! I Do!" Now
through October 14. Written by the team that brought us The
Fantasticks this is a funny and heart-warming story of two people
who have taken that most important step - marriage. Covering
the first half of the 20th century we follow the ups and downs of
Agnes and Michael with love shining through all the smiles and tears.

Attend the 8th Annual FilmColumbia Festival
FilmColumbia returns for its
eighth festival season on Thursday, October 18. Hosted by
The Chatham Film Club at the historic Crandell Theatre, the festival
will screen more than 35 independent films, documentaries, shorts
and animations from around the world. The festival will expand
this year into two venues. In addition to the Crandell, they
will be screening the animation program and some film shorts at
the historic Morris Memorial Community Center. Tickets go

Enjoy the Halloween Harvest at Clermont
Clermont State Historic Site
will celebrate the spirit of Halloween on Friday, October 19 and
Saturday, October 20 with the Legends by Candlelight Spook Tour
and Halloween Harvest. The fun will begin Friday night with
the Legends by Candlelight Spook Tour at 6:00 & 6:30 pm.
Visitors will find the mansion fully decorated for this spooky holiday.
The guided tour will lead guests through the mansion and out into
the estate grounds where they will meet the lurking ghosts of Clermont's
past. On Saturday, the Halloween Harvest will feature food,
live music, sport demonstrations, Jack-O-Lantern contest, kids'
and dogs' costumer contests, crafts and much more. This is
a family and pet friendly event. For

a Dinner Comedy Show
Enjoy
an evening of a Dinner Comedy Show on Friday, October 19 at 6:30
pm. Sponsored by the Hudson Lions Club, the event will be
held at Meadowgreens Restaurant in Ghent. Comedians Tom Briscoe
(as seen on Comedy Central) and Steve Caouette (as seen on "The
Late Show" with David Letterman) who headline the best comedy clubs
in the country. Tom Briscoe's comedy stems from his life at
home and work. He shares twisted stories, jokes and funny
predicaments he finds himself in as he searches for the perfect
job. Steve Caouette combines impressions, improv, sound effects
and classic stand-up comedy to push the comedic envelope.
Proceeds will benefit the Hudson Lions charity fund which benefits
our local community. The cost is $35 per person for dinner
and the show or $20 for the show only. For more information

Explore Ghosts and Victorians at Olana
On
Saturday, October 27 Olana State Historic Site will host a special
program about Ghosts and the Victorians. The program will
start with a program discussing ghosts in the Victorian Era, then
head out for a sunset walk in the landscape. The program begins
at 6:00 pm and it is $5 per person. For more information about
