See a Play
The Ghent Playhouse will feature "The Complete works of William Shakespere (abridged)" from January 15 to January 31. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) is a Monty Python-esque romp through the work of the greatest playwright in the English language, with a tiny cast of actors playing all the roles in all the plays. That's right, ALL...albeit in abridged form. From gender-bender casting to "Titus Andronicus" staged as a cooking show to a backwards version of "Hamlet," this frenetic roller coaster ride offers something for everyone, be they scholar or simpleton, schoolchild or septuagenarian. The play was written by the Reduced Shakespeare Company, a group known for writing and performing unsubtle, fast-paced, seemingly improvisational condensations of huge topics. Go Snowshoeing
It’s becoming harder and harder to predict when the frozen white stuff will be in great supply. To take advantage of the sporadic snowfall in Columbia County, CLC has created snowshoe hikes that are arranged for when we have adequate snow and good weather conditions. We’ve set up an email alert system to schedule these snowshoe treks. You check your email and there is a message from CLC: “Come join us for snowshoeing”. Simply reply to the email and meet us at the designated site. CLC has a limited number of snowshoes to lend and beginners are welcome. For more information about Columbia Land Conservancy and to register for the email list, please contact Jenny Brinker at (518) 392.5252, ext. 210 or by email at jenny@clctrust.org or visit their website at www.clctrust.org.

Born in the states but raised in Israel, Kelli Rudick spent endless hours playing in the echoing sound of the bomb shelter just outside the family's house on the outskirts of Tel Aviv. In 2007 Kelli released 'No One Knows You're Foreign', a distinctive work introducing her unique way of accentuating emotionally complex compositions by drawing percussive rhythms from the fretboard and body of the guitar while coaxing chordal melodies and harmonics from the strings. Kelli Rudick has collaborated with notable artists including Nick Zammuto of the aleatoric electro-folk duo The Books, Alon Leventon of the project Drops of Conciousness and the electro-indie group Zigmat, and recorded and toured with internationally acclaimed guitarist Kaki King. the Blue Note, Galapagos, the Cutting Room, a month-long residency at the Living Room, and headlining a full house fronting her five-piece band at Joe's Pub in New York City.
