Attend a Gourmet Gathering
On August 5 and 12, Space 360 invites you to prepare yourself for a journey around the world as you and your friends learn techniques and chef secrets that will teach you how to prepare meals with international flair. See a Show
The Mac-Haydn Theatre will feature "Guys and Dolls", a play written by Damon Runyon's wonderful characters in a classic favorite. Laughter galore - and every doll gets her guy! Songs include "Luck Be a Lady, I've Never Been in Love Before, Bushel and a Peck, and If I Were a Bell". "Guys and Dolls" will run August 10 through 20. Tickets are $24.50 and $23.50; $23.50 for all matinee seats; children under 12, $12.00. Attend an Auction
Stair Galleries will host an Exposition Auction on Friday, August 11 at 6:00 pm. The auction will offer quality estate furniture and decorative arts including a small collection of Orientalia; 20th century art glass, pottery and porcelain; sterling silver and silver plate; works of art including paintings, sculpture and prints from the 18th & 20th centuries and more. Listen to the Blues Jam
The Spencertown Academy will host the Blue Barbeque on Saturday, August 12 at 7:00 pm. Feast on authentic, slow-cooked barbeque prepared by the Spencertown Academy's own Q-Crew, then dance the night away under the starts to the hot sounds of the Blues Jam unleashed. Go to a Family Festival
On Saturday, August 12 Operation Unite, New York will host a Family Festival at Hudson Waterfront Park. The festival will run from 12:00 - 5:00 pm. The Jazz Festival will begin at 6:00 pm. See the Hudson River Steamboats
Clermont State Historic Site will host Hudson River Steamboat Days on August 12 & 13 from 12:00 to 6:00 pm. Enjoy steam engines, boat models, lectures and period music and food commemorate the Livingston-Fulton steamboat partnership. Enjoy a Play
Stageworks/Hudson will feature "Dog Stories" a play about a man who is at a loss for what to do after losing his wife and now his dog is diagnosed with a life threatening illness. He and his dog set out on a cross country adventure to reach "the happiest place on earth". This award-winning twist on man and man's best friend is a touching and hilarious exploration of life's true meaning- seen through the eyes of two companions. PS/21 will host the First Annual Paul Grunberg Memorial Bach Concert featuring Kenneth Cole and the Berkshire Bach Ensemble on August 26. PS/21, Performance Space for the 21st Century is a not-for-profit organization located in Chatham dedicated to the performing arts. Attend a Peach Festival
Olana State Historic Site will host the first annual Peach Festival on Saturday, August 26. In honor of Frederic Church's prize-winning peaches, join Olana to celebrate at the family's farm for a day of old-fashioned family fun. Enjoy historic games, period music, crafts, stories and walking tours of the farm. The cost is $5 per vehicle, weather permitting. The festival will run from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. Attend the Columbia County Fair
End your summer fun by attending the Columbia County Fair. The Fair will open on August 30 at 5:00 pm and run through Labor Day. Enjoy great food, animals, exhibits, vendors, live music, midway, fireworks, demolition derby and much more. The Fair is jam-packed with a fantastic line-up of entertainment and non-stop action.
