The Copake Theatre Company in association
with Theatre Maketa presents Leda Hodgson in "Talking
Heads and Talking, Talking Heads" from March 2 through
11. Miss Hodgson will fly over from London to perform in
Bed Among the Lentils, from the series, Talking Heads, by
Alan Bennett and Talking, Talking Heads by Nick Kidd. Come
and enjoy an evening that is witty and poignant and beautifully
performed. Performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays
at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm at the Historic Copake

View the 12th Annual Juried Art Show
The
Columbia County Council on the Arts 12th Annual Juried Art
Show will be on view from March 3 through April 7 at the Hudson
Opera House. The opening reception will take place on Saturday,
March 3 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, with awards presented at 6:00
pm. Hour for viewing the exhibition are Monday through Saturday
from 12:00 to 5:00 pm. Each year the Arts Council encourages
its artist members to submit their work for possible inclusion
in the Annual Juried Art Show. Work in five different categories
were accepted which include: sculpture, painting, works on
paper, mixed media and photography. For more information about

Attend an Antique Toy & Model
Train Show
Columbia-Greene
Community College will host the 26th Annual Antique Toy &
Model Train Show on Sunday, March 4 from 10:00 am to 3:00
pm. The show will be held in the Student Dining Hall and Gymnasium
of the college. General admission is $3 and children under

The members
of Imani Winds Quintet expand the boundaries of the traditional
quintet and explore the links between European, African, and
American music traditions. For the Hudson concert, Imani Winds
presents a diverse program that includes Astor Piazzola's
Escuaalo, Quintet in D Major opus 95 by Josef Bohuslav Foerster,
Freedom's Delight by John Clark and Shadow by Narong. The
performance will be held on Friday, March 9 at 8:00 pm at
the Hudson Middle School. Tickets are $5 per person or $10

Stair Galleries
will host a Catalogued Auction on Saturday, March 10 at 11:00
am. The auction will feature English and Continental furniture,

NYC; Mrs. Vera DeRham, NYC; property including porcelain and
silver from the estate of Rosalie and Matthew Weinstein; a
large group of silver and silver-plate from several collectors;

Classical Music
The
Spencertown Academy will feature award-winning, international
pianist Diane Walsh performing a program featuring the ground-breaking
music of Claude Debussy and the sensual piano works of George
Crumb. The New York Times says Walsh is an "inventive,
fiery interpreter to take risks". The show will be held
on March 10 at 7:30 pm. The cost is $15 members and $20 non-members.

The Taconic
Hills Performing Arts Center will feature Quickstep to perform
an afternoon of old Irish music, song and dance on Sunday
March 11 at 3:00 pm. Quickstep will entertain the entire family
with moving ballads, fiery fiddles and steps so quick you
won't want to blink. Sentimental songs, a flurry of fiddles,
fine instrumentation and fast flying feet will be featured
with poetry and lighthearted stories in the Irish tradition.
Contemporary Celtic music will be played along with some of
the best of the old ballads, jigs, reels and songs from the
old sod. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children and

See a Play
The Ghent Playhouse
will feature "Tintypes" March 16 through April 1.
"Tintypes", is a kaleidoscopic vaudeville of American
life and the tumultuous times between 1880 and the Depression.
The delightful musical journey has a cast of five representing
several well-known historical figures. The characters bring
to life a colorful time which brought electricity, industrialization,
the strife between rich and poor, and America's love affair
with the automobile. "Tintypes" is a musical melting
pot which uses as its base the Great American Song book. Tickets
are $12 for Playhouse members and $15 for the general public.

Take a Spring Walk
Enjoy a perfect
view of the Catskills from Ridge Road, where recent view restoration
has opened a western view that can only be rivaled by the
view from Olana's main house. Dress for the weather. Children
are welcome and should be prepared to walk about one mile.
You will depart from the Visitor Center at the top of the
hill. The walk is free and will be held on Saturday, March
