Attend a Concert

The United States Air Force Liberty Pops will perform on April 6 at the Taconic Hills Performing Arts Center. The doors open at 6:00 pm and the show starts at 7:00 pm. The concert is sponsored by Taconic Hills Central School and The Independent Newspaper. Admission is free, but tickets are required. Attend the Movable Feast

The Hudson Opera House will host the 12th Annual Movable Feast on April 8. The Movable Feast begins at 6:30 pm with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the Opera House. At 7:30 pm guests move on to dinners nearby hosted both at private homes and at many downtown Hudson businesses. After dinner guests return to the Opera House for coffee and desserts prepared by some of the county’s finest bakers. Meet new neighbors and help support the ongoing programs and restoration of the Opera House. Search for Coyotes

Join Fran Martino in the spring Olana landscape to search for evidence of coyotes on April 8 at 6:30 pm. You may not see any, but you'll have a great time learning about their behavior and habitat while you look. Dress for the weather. The event is free for members, $5 for non-members. Visit the Sheep & Wool Showcase

Clermont State Historic Site will host the Chancellor’s Sheep & Wool Showcase on April 15 from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. The showcase is based on historical model farming events at Clermont, and is designed as a family event complete with live animals and crafts for the children. Fiber artists, wool enthusiasts, and those involved in the sheep and wool industry will be delighted to find offerings of exhibits, music, demonstrations, and items for sale. The event is free to the public with a $7 vehicle entry fee to the grounds. Season Opener at the Valley

Lebanon Valley Speedway will open for their 54th season on April 15. The 2006 local dirt racing season is set to begin in fine fashion with plenty of action packed racing, and family entertainment for all ages. Attend an Auction

The Copake Auction House will hold their 15th Annual Antique and Classic Bicycle Auction on April 22 at 10:00 am. This auction is considered the most important bicycle sale in the country and the longest running event of its type. Learn About Nature

The Nature Institute will host a lecture featuring Dr. Martin Lockley on April 21 at the Chatham High School Auditorium. The lecture will highlight Tracking Dinosaurs Around the World. Attend Cabaret in the Country

The Spencertown Academy will host Barbara Brussell: Cabaret in the Country on April 22. Barbara Brussell a supremely talented singer, interprets the lyrics of Alan Jay Lerner. The doors open at 5:30 pm and the show starts at 6:00 pm. Early reservations are advised. Tickets are $35/$25 members. Enjoy Farm Day

Old Chatham Sheepherding Company will host their annual Farm Day on April 29 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. This event is free and open to the public. Some of the activities will include sheering of the sheep, Sheep to Shawl competition, country scenic hayrides, dog trials, cheese making demonstration and much more! See a Show!

The Copake Theatre Company will be featuring Driving Miss Daisy from April 28 - 30. The play is a heartwarming drama about an unspoken friendship between an unlikely pair.
