Attend a Celebration
The hills of Columbia County will come alive with the sights,

May 6 at the Celebration of Celts festival. The festival
will be held at the Columbia County Fairgrounds located on
Route 66 in Chatham. The gates open at 10:00 am and opening

Enjoy a Spring Faire
On Saturday May 13th from 10am to 4pm
the campus of Hawthorne Valley School in Harlemville will
come alive with the music and Mayhem of the 32nd annual Spring
Faire. Plus this year they are transforming the campus into
a Renaissance garden. So all the fine ladies and gentlemen,
young and old, should come to the Faire in all their finest
Renaissance Regalia and enjoy hayrides, games, boat races,
face painting, dunking booth, dragon run, banana pole, marble
run, pillow jousting, hay jumping, and many more activities.

Attend an Estate Open House
Clermont State Historic Site
will host an Open House on May 14 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Come and tour Clermont’s
outbuildings while enjoying domestic arts & crafts demonstrations.
The event is free to the public with a $7 vehicle entry fee

Olana State Historic Site will host a Mother’s Day
Family Art Workshop on May 14 at 10:00 am. Join them for

Visit a Historic Site
Martin Van Buren National Historic
Site will host a rededication ceremony of Lindenwald on
May 20 at 2:00 pm. President Van Buren’s home will
reopen for tours following two years of extensive renovations.

Attend the Annual Artist Studio Tour
Columbia County Council on the Arts will host the 4th Annual
Artist Studio Tour: Artists in a Landscape on May 20-21.
Eighteen artists with national and international reputations
open their studios (some for the first time!) for this fourth
annual event. The studios are a wonderful mixture of urban
and rural, classic and contemporary, not to mention “utterly
individual”. View the work of some of the most talented
residents of Columbia County in the studio in which it is
made. Driving between studios, you will pass through some
of the beguiling landscapes in the county at the peak of
the spring season. There are also stops on and off Hudson’s “Warren
Street”, home to a thriving art and antiques trade.
Take in your favorite styles of art in an afternoon or spend
both days exploring Columbia County and visiting all the

Attend a Festival
The Shaker Museum and Library will host the 18th Annual
Herb and Craft Festival on May 27 from 9:00 am – 4:00
pm rain or shine. They will offer an herb and plant sale,
marketplace of fine crafts and comestibles in the courtyard.
The museum galleries and gift shop will be open. Children's
activities will be offered and a continental breakfast and
lunch will be available for sale. For more information about

Shop at the Annual Memorial Day Weekend Tag Sale
The Copake Auction House will host the 21st Annual Memorial
Day Weekend Tag Sale on May 27 and 28. The tag sale will
run from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm each day. Early buying from
8:00 -9:00 am will be available for a $10 fee on May 27.

Attend a Shad Bake & Country BBQ
The Columbia Land Conversancy will host the 16th Annual
Shad Bake and Country Barbecue on May 28 from 4:30 – 8:00
pm, rain or shine. The event will be held at the Kinderhook
Farm in Ghent. Guests of all ages will enjoy the food, educational
activities, and the popular Silent and Live auctions. Proceeds
from the fundraising event will support CLC’s free
educational programs and efforts to protect working farmland,
wildlife habitat, and rural open space in Columbia County.
