Women's Networking Luncheon - April 21

Vanderbilt House will host the Women's Networking Luncheon on Wednesday, April 21 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. Additional networking wil be available until 2:00 pm. Networking luncheons provide a great opportunity for area business people to promote their business to other business professionals. Vanderbilt House is located at 161 Main Street, Philmont. The cost is $18 for members and $24 for non-members. The event is sponosred by A. Breakfast Forum for Landlords– April 29

Chamber will host a forum for housing developers, landlords and property managers on the topic:  Smoke-free Housing:  Good for Your Business?  The program will feature speakers on the legal, financial and implementation considerations of adopting a non-smoking policy that covers entire buildings, including living units.   The event is sponsored by Rip Van Winkle Tobacco-Free Action, a program of the Healthcare Consortium.  The event will be held from 8:00 – 10:00am Thursday, April 29th at Space 360 located at 360 Warren Street in Hudson.  Breakfast will be served.  There is no charge to attend, but you must be registered.  For more information or to register, call Amy at 828- 4417.  Please click here for more information

21st Annual Golf Tournament - May 17
Get your golf clubs ready for the 21st Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, May 17 at Copake Country Club.  Registration and lunch will begin at 11:00 pm and play begins at 12:30 pm with a shotgun start. .  Reservations include golf, cart, lunch, open- bar cocktail hour and dinner.  We will once again have fabulous hole-in-one prize's for this year's tournament and the $50,000 Combo Putt Off.  Twelve lucky golfers will be chosen by raffle for a chance to putt off for the cash.  Reserve early as this is a sellout tournament.  Please click here for more committee information.

The COARC Education Committee Dollars for Scholars Chapter announces scholarship opportunities for Columbia County residents who are pursuing college-level education. The Committee also offers Summer Arts Grants to school‑aged applicants who reside in Columbia County and who are also enrolled in special education programs. Scholarship and summer art grant recipients are selected by the COARC Education Committee Dollars for Scholars Chapter. All applications must be received by May 1, 2010 and the recipients will be announced on June 21, 2010. Garden Talk Fundraiser for Valatie Economic Development Association (VERA) to be held on Thursday, April 8 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm at the Barnwell Center located at 3230 Church Street in Valatie.  Speaker,  Kerry Mendez is quite the speaker and her list of credentials is long.  She has appeared on HGTV several times, has her own nursery in Balston Spa and is well known through out the Hudson Valley.  We couldn't be more honored to have her here in Valatie!Kerry's talk, Four Seasons Of Color - Hit the Easy Button, will show you tricks of the trade for having WOW gardens month after month with smart plant selection, design tips, and surefire maintenance shortcuts.  The $10.00 per person fee includes handouts, door prizes and light refreshments.  To register or if you have questions, please call Jackie Hennessey at (518) 610-8164 Monday through Friday between 8:30 - 4:30 p.m or e-mail hennessyins@nycap.rr.com

BeLo3rd Gallery Collective presents an Art BeLo 3rd event, Saturday, April 10th from 4 pm to 8 pm.  Multiple galleries host artist receptions featuring works in photography, mixed media, digital art print media, and painting.   Digital  Art Extravaganza opens at Limner; Judith Black & Moira Barrett at Davis/Orton; New Works at J. The Hudson Rotary Club will be hosting its 13th annual Benefit Auction at Kozel’s Restaurant on Saturday afternoon, May 1, 2010.  There will be a preview at 3pm followed by live and silent auctions at 4pm.  Hors d’oeuvres will be served and there will be a cash bar.  Admission will be $5 per person, same as last year.  We do hope you and your family will be able to attend this fun fund-raiser for the Hudson Rotary Club.  All the funds raised by this auction will be devoted to the many projects and services of the Hudson Rotary Club.  To donate auction items call Dr. Bill Kowalski at 518-822-0060.
