Deborah Zetterlund, Executive Director of The Greene County
Chamber of Commerce
Betty Foss, Executive Assistant at the Columbia County Community

"Having
been an administrative assistant myself, I understand completely
the work that is accomplished by support staff. To honor
these hard workers, we decided to collaborate with our two
local Chambers to create a very special luncheon," stated
Holly Tanner, United Way Board Member and Chairwoman of the
luncheon.
National
Secretaries Week was founded in 1952 by the National Secretaries
Association, now the International Association of Administrative
Professionals, to recognize secretaries for their endeavors
in the workplace and to attract people into the secretarial/administrative
field. In 2000, the IAAP changed the name of the day from
Professional Secretaries Day to Administrative Professionals
Day to keep up with the ever-changing responsibilities of
the today's administrative work force.
"This
day acknowledges the people who do the behind-the-scenes work
," stated Cheryl Meenagh, Program Director for the Columbia
County Chamber of Commerce. " The Chamber is pleased
to celebrate all of the people who contribute to the success
of local businesses.”
“This
is a great way to say thank you for the multitude of tasks
our administrative support personnel take off our hands ,
said Deborah Zetterlund, Executive Director of The Greene
County Chamber of Commerce. They certainly deserve the recognition.
Just don't try to change the cartridge in the fax machine
while they are at this luncheon!”
The
luncheon will include a fabulous buffet, goodie bags and raffle
items all for $18.00 per person. A special emcee for the event
will be announced in the future. You can also show your support
by either underwriting this important event with a donation
of $100.00 or by making a donation for the raffle items. The
