The
Painted Dogs Return to Columbia County this Summer
Hudson,
NY – Get ready for the painted dogs this summer! Starting
July 4th weekend, the City of Hudson will host its second
annual public art exhibition. Sponsored by the Columbia County
Chamber of Commerce, Best in Show 2009 will feature 40 artist
decorated fiberglass dogs displayed on steel pedestals throughout
the Hudson Business District. The exhibition opens during
the “dog days” of summer on July 4th weekend and runs until
the end of September.
The
painted dogs, seated and standing, are 25 inches tall and
highlight the work of local artists. Each canine displays
a unique, inventive personality bestowed upon them by the
artist and are sure to delight dog enthusiasts of all ages.

The
exhibition closes at the end of September in preparation for
the Dog Gone! Gala Benefit Auction on October. The colorful
canines go to the highest bidders at the Gala Auction Brunch.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit local charities.
