The
prestigious Crystal Apple award is a stunning Steuben lead
crystal apple. The apple symbolizes Columbia County’s
simple beauty, agricultural heritage and quality of life.
Criteria:
The Crystal Apple Award is bestowed on a Chamber member business
to recognize an extraordinary contribution to economic progress,
community improvement, and the quality of life in Columbia
County during 2004.
Eligibility: All Chamber member businesses are eligible. Criteria
must have been accomplished during 2004.
Process: The Chamber is seeking candidates for nomination.
To present a candidate for nomination, please submit, in writing,
reasons why a Chamber member business should be considered
for a nomination for the Crystal Apple Award. Please provide
specific information/examples based on but not limited to
one or more of the following criteria:
Significant Improvement of Community Services
Expanded Educational Opportunities
Private Investment
Job Creation
Visible demonstration of confidence in the County’s
economic future
Distinguished Involvement in Civic Affairs
All
candidate recommendations properly submitted by the close
of business on January 14, 2005 will be reviewed by the Crystal
Apple Gala Task Force and the Chamber Board of Directors,
who will vote to create a slate of 5 official nominees. The
ballot of official nominees will then be mailed to the Chamber
membership for voting. Properly submitted votes received by
the close of business on February 18, 2005 will be counted
and verified by Chamber staff to determine the winner of the
16th Annual Crystal Apple. The winner will be announced at
the Crystal Apple Gala on February 25, 2005 at the Columbia
Golf & Country Club. Please
