Ghent
Playhouse to Host Chamber Night Out
Hudson,
NY – The Ghent Playhouse is inviting all Chamber members to
join them at a preview performance of the 2008-09 season opener,
"Clue - the Musical" at 8:00 pm on Thursday evening,
October 9th.
Written
by Peter DePietro, with music by Galen Blum, Wayne Barker
and Vinnie Martucci and lyrics by Tom Chiodo, "Clue -
the Musical" is based on the board game Cluedo, which
was known as Clue in North America . The Ghent production
will be directed by Michael Mensching.
The
play, which premiered off-Broadway in 1997, features all the
audience favorites, including Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock,
Professor Plum, and more. At the start of each performance,
three audience members are asked to select one card each and
place it in an envelope. Not only do the chosen cards determine
the ending of the show (with 216 possible conclusions), but
the cards also determine which lines the actor playing the
game's host, Mr. Boddy, will deliver.
The
Ghent Playhouse is Columbia County 's oldest community theatre.
Its home is the historic former Ghent Town Hall , just off
Route 66 opposite the firehouse. The building's interior has
been remade into a comfortable and charming 104-seat theatre,

during which time five plays are presented to enthusiastic
audiences.
Besides
"Clue - the Musical," which runs from October 10-26,
the 2008-09 season includes "Jack and the Beanstalk"
(November 28-December 14), "The Boys Next Door"
