Army to Host Chamber After Hours
Hudson,
NY, - Join us in celebration of Salvation Army Week at the
Chamber's Business After Hours on Thursday, May 17. You will
be able to see a behind the scenes tour of the Salvation Army
soup kitchen that served more than 15,000 meals in 2006, and
all of the other wonderful and important services that they
provide to residents of the County.
Come
and enjoy exciting door prizes, networking and refreshments.
Mid-Hudson Cable will be giving away a high definition television
and there will be fabulous prizes from other local businesses
under the tent donated by Columbia Tent Rental. The After
Hours will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
The
Salvation Army provides services to thousands of people in
need each year in Columbia County . Some of these services
include: the soup kitchen which provides free healthy meals
five times a week to people in need, the stuff a bus a fundraiser
created to benefit local school children that could not afford
to fulfill the list of required school supplies, Thanksgiving
Dinner, Joyful Christmas, Disaster relief, and much more.
The Salvation Army also supports Camp Long Point and sends
25 local children to summer camp each year. Summer camp
is a "dream come true" for those children would
not normally have this opportunity available.
The
Salvation Army needs the support of the community to make
these wonderful and much needed programs a reality. You can
