There's
no better time to be a Chamber Member!
Hudson,
NY - The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, with its 850
members, is the leading voice of business in Columbia County
, providing advocacy, promotional and benefit solutions for
its members.
Promotion
The
Chamber offers many ways to promote your business. Four full-time
staffers help promote your business through referrals, networking
events, publications and much more. We have a ribbon cutting
package for new businesses, businesses who have moved or recently
expanded. The package offers a very valuable advertising package
from Chamber members to welcome you! The Chamber has many
communication vehicles that can help promote your business
including the quarterly newsletter, Chamber Connection, e-newsletter,
membership directory and relocation guide and a display rack
for your advertising materials. "When I want to advertise
my services to the most successful and civic-minded businesses,
the Chamber Connection is the obvious choice," said Suzanne
Trevellyan of Trevellyan Graphic Design & Marketing. According
to Trevellyan, "I can target my message, there's no clutter
and I know it gets read. Joining the chamber was one of the
smartest things I ever did for my business."
Benefits
The
Chamber strives to help members stretch their dollars further
with our member benefits. We offer a wide range of health
insurance plans including: CDPHP, MVP Health Plan, Blue Shield
of Northeastern New York, GHI-HMO Select and Guardian Dental
Insurance. “I get my medical insurance through the Chamber,”
says Arlene Boehm of Boehm Graphic Design, echoing the reason
many small and home-based businesses join the Chamber. She
has also benefited from the networking. “It has brought me
business,” reports the graphic designer.
Members
who participate in the Energy Alliance program benefit from
the purchasing power of a large group and cuts your electricity
and natural gas costs. You are likely to save at least your
entire membership investment by enrolling in the program.
“The Energy Alliance program has saved my business money by
reducing our energy costs,” said Pat Haines of Hudson Sears.
If
your small business is faced with a technical challenge, the
SPACE Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP) wants to
help. SATOP can provide up to 40 hours of FREE technical assistance
for qualified requests, utilizing the vast engineering expertise
of NASA and participating space industry Alliance Partners.
The program is intended to help solve technical challenges
that cannot be resolved by the company's internal resources,
or by commercially available services.
Advocacy
The
Chamber exists to advocate for local businesses. The Chamber
is focused on issues that affect all businesses as well as
issues that confront your individual business. You are encouraged
to contact the Chamber to put the strength of our membership
to work for you. There are many special committees that focus
on the business community. The Chamber encourages you to get
involved and put them to work for you to help make our community
a great place to live, work and play. One example is the current
collaboration between the Chamber and the Chatham Business
Alliance. “The Chamber is working closely with the Chatham
