CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO COLLECT TOYS AT WINTER WALK FOR SALVATION
ARMY AND COARC CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY
Hudson,
NY - The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce has offered to
collect toy donations at Winter Walk for the Salvation Army
and COARC Children's Christmas Party. Donations of new, non-gift
wrapped toys for children aged 11 and younger will be collected
at the Chamber's location of 507 Warren Street in Hudson during
the Winter Walk event on Saturday, December 2 nd .
“The
Chamber has worked with the Salvation Army and we are a COARC
member. With these two organizations working together, it's
going to be a great event, so we're happy to help collect
toys and financial donations for the Children's
Christmas Party,” said David Colby, Chamber President. “We'll
also be ringing the bell for the Salvation Army and Captain
Medina has pledged the money collected at Winter Walk to benefit
the Party.”
The
Salvation Army and COARC are proud to announce sponsors of
the event: the Northern Columbia Rotary Club, Wal-Mart, and
two anonymous friends of COARC made $500 donations; the Emanuel
Lutheran Church in Hudson donated $300; the Bank of Greene
County donated $250; and the National Union Bank of Kinderhook
donated $100. The organizing committee expresses its thanks
to the local organizations, businesses, and individuals for
their support. These funds will help ensure that every child
under 11 years of age attending the party receives a toy from
Santa!
Interested
in donating a toy, but not going to Winter Walk? Collection
points for new unwrapped, unused toys are at the Salvation
Army Soup Kitchen at 40 South Third Street in Hudson and COARC
program sites – 630 Route 217 in Mellenville; 65 Prospect
Avenue in Hudson; 11 Warren Street in Hudson; and 3143 Route
9, Suite 5 in Valatie. Additional toy collection sites are
the Chamber of Commerce office at 507 Warren Street in Hudson;
National Union Bank of Kinderhook locations at One Hudson
Street in Kinderhook, Main Street in Chatham, and Route 66
in Greenport.
