Hudson Farmer's Market is Open

On Saturday, May 8 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, The Hudson Market opens with new vendors and a new layout!  Still featuring local products, so vendors will “appear” as their produce ripens.  Season will include vegetables and fruits in season, eggs, meats, cheese, wine, bread and other baked goods, teas, flowers, preserves and everything else you need to make a meal.  Local family farms feeding local families!

Beginning Friday, May 14 through May 30, the Ghent Playhouse will present Neil Simon’s wry comedy “The Prisoner of Second Avenue” directed by Flo Hayle.  the story of Mel, a well-paid executive of a fancy company, in the New York of the1970s.  The company has suddenly hit the skids and started to lay people off and Mel, too, gets the ax. (Sound familiar?)  His wife takes a job to tide them over, then she too is sacked. Lobster Bake Benefit

Reformed Dutch Church of Claverack is holding a Lobster Bake Benefit on Saturday, May 15 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.  This is as fresh as it gets – the best Maine hard shell lobsters, cooked and ready to go!  A load of freshly caught lobsters will be picked up in Maine, driven to Claverack, and cooked right outside the church’s CE Building – all in the same day!   You must order dinners by Friday, May 7.  Dinners are $15 each and include a lobster, baked potato, cole slaw, iced tea or lemonade, and dessert.  Add one additional lobster to each dinner for $9. Proceeds from the Lobster Bake will be used for the church’s 2010 fuel fund.  To place your order or to find out more, contact us at RDCCLobsterBake@Gmail.com.  Or call the church office at 518-851-3811 during office hours (Monday/Tuesday 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; Thursday 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m.-11 a.m.)

Get Your Antiques Appraised

Attend a Country Barbecue
On Sunday, May 30 from 4:30 - 8:00 pm join the Columbia Land Conservancy for the annual celebration of Columbia County's rural heritage, land conservation, agriculture, and wildlife.  Due to popular demand, the silent auction will return to this year's event. Local food and drink will be provided and throughout the evening there will be live music and  performers. Children of all ages can expect lots of hands-on activities, interactive displays, and cool projects to make-and-take. CLC members will receive an invitation. On Sunday, May 30 Bindlestiff Family Cirkus Cabaret comes to Club Helsinki's brand new home in Hudson, NY. The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus Cabaret features new, phenomenal acts each show from the world's best artists in the disciplines of Circus, Variety, Burlesque, Sideshow, and Physical Comedy. Live, original Cirkus tunes by our  Maestro of Musical Mystery. Expect jugglers, clowns, acrobats, and trapeze artists to share the stage with musicians, magicians, dancers, daredevils, and more.
