is a brief description of each of the Chamber's committees.

Agricultural/Columbia
County Bounty Committee:
Mission 1: To raise
awareness of agriculture as a key activity vital to the County’s
economy and character and to explore different ways of increasing
agricultural profitability.
Mission 2: To promote
and support networking connections between local agricultural
producers and culinary businesses. We aim to educate our community
about the preservation of our local farms through the purchase
and use of local and regional sustainable foods and products
not only from Columbia County, but also the entire Hudson
Valley.
Arts and Tourism Committee
Mission: To develop programs that will support members in
Arts and Tourism related businesses. To enhance the
awareness of the tourism industry to businesses and the public,
to develop strategies to work with tourism based organizations
and to provide networking and education opportunities for
tourism professionals.
Business Education
Committee - (meets quarterly)
Mission: Work to create a resourceful and productive relationship
between Columbia County’s educational institutions and
business community as a means of strengthening the transition
of students from the educational environment to the world
of work, by planning and implementing specific school-based
and work-based programs and activities that connect the school
and work environments.
Economic
Development/Government Affairs Committee (EDGA) - (last Wednesday
of month)
Mission: To advocate for planned and proper economic development
in the County. The committee promotes a continued dialogue
between the Chamber and County and State government by conducting
periodic face to face meetings with elected officials.
The committee will meet monthly to hear from elected officials
and business people that have ideas and issues that are shaping
Columbia County.
Marketing
and Communications Task Force - (as needed)
Mission: To evaluate
and make recommendations on all Chamber communications vehicles.
To develop a recommended list of marketing tools such as signage
and table top displays and to create a marketing plan to present
to the Board of Directors.
Membership
Committee - (second Tuesday of month)
Mission: To offer a diverse range of services, programs and
benefits, which provide members with direct value for their
dues investment. To provide networking opportunities
for members and potential members, for benefit of developing
valuable and lasting professional relationships.
Special
Events Task Force - (as needed)
Meets as needed to assist in the production of the Golf Tournament,
Ski Nite and other events.
