Hosted by Three-Time Academy Award nominee & Tony Award-winning actress, Joan Allen featuring a special performance with amazing horses and wonderfully talented dancers of RIDE: The Equestrian Dance Theater by Paula Josa-Jones/Performance. On Saturday, November 20, the Hudson-Chatham Winery will be hosting its 3rd Annual Bread, Wine & Cheese event. During the winery's regular hours of 12 to 5 pm, guests will have the opportunity to meet with several local cheesemakers, who will be on hand to talk about what they do and also sample their cheeses. River Street Bakers from Catskill will have a selection of their incredible baked goods; Micosta will have their artisanal goodies produced from local ingredients; and, of course, there will be tastings of Hudson-Chatham's award-winning wines. For the second year, Bindlestiff Family Variety Arts, Inc. and Walking the dog Theater present GhostWALK Hudson: Ghost Story Walking Tour on Friday, November 5, 2010, you can stroll on Hudson's historic Columbia and Warren Streets, and visit spooky locations where original ghost stories will be told by young actors from Walking the dog Theater's Afterschool Drama Program. Tickets are $5. The box office, located at the Cannonball Factory at 359-361 Columbia Street, will open at 5:30 pm. The first tour departs at 6pm. On Saturday, November 6, a silent and live auction will be held at Columbia-Greene Community College in the Professional Academic Center at the Greenport campus. This year’s event, entitled “An Evening of Wine and Roses” will feature more than 100 items available by silent auction, including jewelry, paintings, hand crafted items, golf and restaurant gift certificates. Big-ticket items will be auctioned off during the live auction. All money raised will go to the Columbia-Greene Community Foundation scholarship fund to help assist deserving students attain their academic goals. The Reformed Dutch Church of Claverack celebrates 50 years of Annual Holiday Bazaars on Saturday, November 20, 2010 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Along with hundreds of homemade items for your home, you will discover unique holiday gifts, holiday decorations, and delicious breads, cakes, cookies, and pies. Special items will be for sale in several booths which are duplicates of those sold years ago. Recipes are being found in personal collections which bring back the favorite food and baked items. A unique etched glass frame commemorating the celebration will be sold at the Home Boutique booth.
