The Tourism Committee
of the Chamber will host the third luncheon for local tourism
leaders on Wednesday, May 10 at 12:00 pm at Bezalel Gables Fine
Catering and Events. A presentation by Chef David Robinson
of Bezalel Gables will be given. The committee is asking
attendees to invite their County supervisors to be a guest at
this event. The two previous luncheons were sold out,
so we recommend getting your reservations in early. The

Kinderhook will host a Business After Hours on Wednesday, May

The 17th Annual Chamber
Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, May 22 at Columbia Golf
and Country Club. The tournament will begin with registration/lunch
at 12:00 pm and a shotgun start at 1:00 pm. The early
bird rate through May 8 is $135 for members and $150 non-members.
Reservation includes golf, cart rental, lunch, open-bar cocktail
hour, and dinner. Reserve early as this event is likely

Capital District Physicians'
Health Plan (CDPHP) is introducing a HSA High Deductible PPO.
This innovative new plan can offer freedom, affordability and
security for your insurance coverage. The Chamber is offering
a free informational presentation by CDPHP to discuss this new
product that will be available to members on July 1, 2006.
The sessions will be held on April 27 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am
or 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Chamber office. If you are

the 2006 Fall Business Expo Committee. If you are interested

The New York State Department of Labor is hosting a business
expo on April 5 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm at Columbia-Greene Community
College. We encourage anyone interested in joining the
committee to stop by that expo to help develop ideas and see

Columbia County Community Healthcare Consortium has announced
April appointments for Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus
and Medicaid enrollments. Many working individuals and
families experience difficulty finding affordable health insurance.
Enrollment counselors will be available through the month
of April for individuals and families seeking insurance.

The
Nature Institute is offering a summer course entitled "Coming
Alive to Nature" from June 25 to July 1. It is
an advanced course for people with some familiarity with the
Goethean approach to science and are serious about working
further with the method in one form or another.

The United States Air Force Liberty Pops will perform on April
6 at the Taconic Hills Performing Arts Center. The doors
open at 6:00 pm and the show starts at 7:00 pm. The
concert is sponsored by Taconic Hills School and The Independent
Newspaper. Admission is free, but tickets are required.
