The Landmarks Visitor Center officially opened on Memorial
Day weekend at 547 Warren Street in Hudson. Seven Columbia
and Greene County organizations have joined forces to create
the Center and is the result of an innovative partnership
between The Olana Partnership, Columbia County Department
of Tourism, Friends of Clermont, Martin Van Buren National
Historic Site, Columbia County Historical Society, Shaker
Museum and Library and Cedar Grove. The organizations
hope to publicize their sites to both tourists and the local
community. Along with educational programs and events,
the Center includes a retail shop featuring merchandise from
member organizations, a wide selection of local history books,
and much more. The Center is open seven days a week
from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm throughout the summer. For

On
Sunday, July 2 the Columbia County Fairgrounds will open for
Family Fest in celebration of Independence
Day. Enjoy free children's rides, climbing wall, arts
and crafts, pony rides, hay maze, live music and fireworks.
The gates open at 3:00 pm and fireworks are at 9:30 pm.

The Kinderhook Business and Professional Association will
host the annual People's Parade on Tuesday,
July 4. The parade kicks off at 11:00 am from Rothermel
Park in Kinderhook and will be held rain or shine. Make
your own float. Decorate your car, stroller, wagon,
garden tractor, lawn mower or bike. Anything you can
push or ride, and decorate with good old American Pride!
Everyone is invited to participate or bring a chair to relax
and watch the parade from the sidelines. For more information

The Columbia Arts Team will host a number of Summer
Coffeehouse concerts throughout July and August.
They are held at the American Legion Hall on Route 344 in

and July 27 is the Jazz/Blues Coffeehouse featuring The Karl
Easton Trio, Hoo Doo Rhythm Dogs and more. For more

Information
Hawthorne Valley School will be running a July Kinder
Camp for children ages 4-7. Let your child
experience the riches of Hawthorne Valley in the summertime!
Activities will include nature crafts, songs, and stories;
sand and water play; and hikes and adventures in the fields,
forests, streams and farm of our beautiful 400-acre campus.
The camp will be offered in 1-week sessions from 9:00 am to
1:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The fee for each week
