Best in Show Public Art Project Opens July 3, 2008
Join us for the official opening ceremony of the Best in Show Public Art Exhibition on Thursday, July 3 in front of the Chamber office at 11:00 am.  The exhibition will run from July 4th weekend through October 8 and will be auctioned off on October 12.  The public art project, the first of its kind in Columbia County will feature over 60 handpainted dogs on Warren Street, Hudson's Main Business District.  Best in Show is being organized by the Columbia County Chamber and the Columbia County Council on the Arts and is supported by over 60 businesses in the County.  Please click here for more information.
Tri-City Valley Cats Chamber Night - July 10, 2008
The Tri-City Valley Cats are back for the summer and we want you to join us for Chamber Night on Thursday, July 10 at Joe Bruno Stadium.  Enjoy an action packed evening, along with a picnic dinner and fireworks after the game! Martin Van Buren Business After Hours - July 23, 2008
Martin Van Buren National Historic Site and the Friends of Lindenwald will host a Business After Hours on Wednesday, July 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  The mission of Martin Van Buren National Historic Site is to preserve Lindenwald, the home and farm of the nation's eighth president.  Lindenwald appears as it did when Martin Van Buren lived; it provides an aesthetically pleasing resource which is intimately and tangibly related to his life.  Views of the interior of Lindenwald will be provided during the After Hours.  Business After Hours' offer excellent networking opportunities for area business people. Chamber Night Out at PS/21 and Columbia Festival Orchestra - July 27, 2008
As a members of the newly formed Performing Arts Collective of Columbia County, PS21 and the Columbia Festival Orchestra will host a Chamber Member Night Out on Sunday, July 27, at 2 pm at PS21 (Performance Spaces for the 21st Century) in Chatham, NY. Members of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will be offered discounted tickets at $20 for this performance only. Taste of Columbia County Bounty - July 28, 2008

Columbia County Bounty is proud to announce the first “ Taste of Columbia County Bounty ” taking place on Monday, July 28, 2008 from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Columbia County Fairgrounds in Chatham . Olana State Historic Site Business After Hours - August 13, 2008
Olana State Historic Site will host a Business After Hours on Wednesday, August 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  Named for a fortress treasure-house in ancient Persia , Olana was the home of Frederic Edwin Church (1826-1900), one of America 's most important artists, a student of Thomas Cole, and a major figure in the Hudson River School of landscape painting.   Business After Hours' offer excellent networking opportunities for area business people. Columbia-Greene Superintendents Brunch - August 21, 2008
The Columbia and Greene County Chambers of Commerce will host the 4th Annual Superintendents Brunch on Thursday, August 21 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.  This special program will feature “Childhood Obesity-Community Partnerships in Action” and will discuss the critical importance addressing the rising prevalence of childhood obesity and encourage the implementation of programming that supports healthy lifestyle habits.  Other topics discussed will include: an overview of Chamber programs including the B.E.S.T. Program and Pathways to Employment program. The Hudson Opera House will offer a free summer Theatre Arts Intensive for teens ages 13-21 with theatre artist Paul Ricciardi  The session will be held July 7-18 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.  In two short weeks, participants will discover and explore their talents using theatre improvisation, ensemble exercises, games, scene work, play writing and more.  For more information about the Hudson Opera House call (518) 822-1438 or visit their website at www.hudsonoperahouse.org.

The Shaker Museum and Library invites supporters to help Raise the Roof, literally and figuratively, at this year's museum gala to be held on Saturday, July 26 at Tannery Pond on the grounds of Darrow School.  The Gala is Shaker Museum and Library's biggest fundraiser of the year, and one of Columbia County's premier events.  The event begins at 6:00 pm and will feature a silent and live auction.  For tickets or more information about Shaker Museum and Library call (518) 794-9100 or visit their website at www.shakermuseumandlibrary.org. 

Bezalel Gables Fine Catering and Events invites gourmands, would-be chefs or anyone interested in learning a few kitchen secrets from the experts to spend a day cooking with their chefs for a fundraising event to benefit Habitat for Humanity's Women Build project.  The July 12 fundraiser is limited to 10 participants and runs from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.  For a donation of $150, participants will spend the day with Chef David Robinson and his sous chef, Kelly Silliman. Community Events

Walking the dog Theater will host the first annual "walkingthedog Walk 2008".  The parade and fair will be held on Saturday, July 12.  Register your dog with the theater or at The Spotty Dog in Hudson or Red Maple Books in Harlemville.  The event will include a dog parade down Warren Street that will lead all dogs and fellow participants into Walking the dog Theater/Basilica Industria on Front Street in Hudson.  The dog walk kicks off from 10:00 am to noon.  The day will culminate with the "Bestminister" Dog Show and Mini-Country Fair from 12:00 to 2:00 pm and will include food, drinks, music and more.  For more information about Walking the dog Theater call (518) 610-0909 or visit their website at www.wtdtheater.org.


The Spencertown Academy Arts Center will feature the Hidden Gardens of Spencertown on Saturday, July 12 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  The event will feature self-guided tours of four local gardens at the height of their summer glory.  You can visit the garden restoration at Steepletop, home of poet Edna St. Vincent Millay.  Gourmet boxed lunches will be provided at Columbia Land Conservancy's Oom's Conservation at Sutherland Pond.  You can also purchase unusual plants for adventurous gardeners.  For tickets or more information about Spencertown Academy Arts Center call (518) 392-3693 or visit their website at www.spencertownacademy.org.
