The 17th Annual Golf
Tournament was once again a sell out for the Chamber.
Even on a chilly May afternoon, members enjoyed a great round
of golf. The Chamber would like to thank everyone involved
with the tournament that helped to make it a great success.

Club will host a Business After Hours on Thursday, June 1.

The Chamber will co-host
a breakfast on Wednesday, June 7 with Questar III to discuss
the Tech Valley High School, which is a joint venture between
Questar III Boces and Capital Region Boces. Questar III
is inviting business leaders from Columbia and Greene counties
to meet to discuss Questar III's role as an innovator in public
education and Tech Valley High School as a learning community
that focuses on the needs of businesses in your area.
The breakfast will be held at Columbia-Greene Community College
in the Student Center from 7:30 - 9:00 am. There is no
cost to attend this event and a continental breakfast will be
served. This event is also co-hosted by the Columbia Hudson
Partnership, Greene County Chamber of Commerce and Greene County

in Business Awards and Showcase on Thursday, June 15.
The event will be held at Stageworks/Hudson. The Business

We invite you to attend
the 7th Annual Agricultural Awareness Tour on Saturday, June
24 to increase your awareness and understanding of the socioeconomic
impact of agriculture in Columbia County. Along with a
back roads tour of the County we will be stopping at three specific
sites for guided tours. Participants will get an in-depth
look into Harrier Fields Farm, Full Belly Farm and Spruce Ridge
Farm. The cost is $15 and that includes a box lunch of
local products and coach bus transportation. This event

The Columbia County Fairgrounds
will host a Business After Hours on Wednesday, July 12 from
5:00 -7:00 pm. Come see the recent renovations to the
Fairhouse building, which dates back to 1884. The fairgrounds
is the home of the annual Columbia County Fair held six days
through Labor Day weekend. The new Fairhouse building

The annual Hudson River
Boat Cruise will set sail on the Spirit of the Hudson on Thursday,
July 20. Come and enjoy food, drinks and music while cruising
down the Hudson River. A pre-boarding reception will take
place at the Hudson Waterfront Park beginning at 5:00 pm and
we will set sail at 6:00 pm. Reserve by July 14 to take
advantage of the discounted rate of $45. This event is

This Buy Local Expo will
be held on Thursday, October 26 at Columbia-Greene Community
College. The Expo will run from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. The event
will feature 60 to 70 booths available to showcase your products
and services to Columbia County businesses and residents.
As part of the Expo we will be featuring demonstrations, food
tasting's, entertainment and much more. Reserve early
as there is only a limited number of booths available.
A complimentary booth will be provided to businesses that serve
food at the event. Booth prices start at $100 for members.
Sponsorship of the event starts at $250. Save the date
and look for more detailed information in the coming months.

Business Updates
The
Mac-Haydn Theatre opened for the season on May 25. They
will be featuring "South Pacific", a play based
on James Michener's "Tales of The South Pacific,"
stories the Navy sailor wrote of the servicemen and nurses,
and the island people he encountered when assigned to islands
in the South Seas during World War II. The show will
run June 8 through 18. The Mac-Haydn Theatre is dedicating
all performances of the show to all the men and women currently
serving and who have served in the Armed Forces. For

The
Sharada Gallery will host an opening reception for the Summer
Show '06, which will feature the work of several Hudson artists.
The opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 10 from

The
Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York will be hosting
the annual Memory Walk on Saturday, June 24 at Columbia-Greene
Community College. Registration is from 10:00 - 11:00
am and the walk kick-off begins at 11:00 am. The walk
will be followed by refreshments, entertainment and prizes.
The event is held each year to help those coping with
Alzheimer's disease. Since 1989, the nation's largest
event supporting Alzheimer's care and support services has
raised more than $200 million. For more information

The
Healthcare Consortium and Columbia County Healthy Women Partnership
have arranged for the Bellevue Women's Hospital Mobile Mammography
Van to perform mammograms and cervical screenings at the Salvation
Army Soup Kitchen on June 14. THe Salvation Army Soup
Kitchen is located on South 3rd Street. The van will
be providing services to insured and uninsured women from

Community
Events
On
Saturday, June 3, the Kinderhook Farmers Market opens
for the season. The market takes places in the Kinderhook
Village Square every Saturday from 8:00 am - noon from June
to mid October. Come and support Columbia County commercial
and residential farmers by purchasing locally grown and made
products. There are organic items as well. There
is no fee for vendors, but booth space is limited. This
event is organized annually by the Kinderhook Business and
Professional Association (KBPA). For more information

The
annual KinderCrafter Fair will take place
on Saturday, June 10 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm rain or shine.
The fair is held on the grounds of the James Vanderpoel House
located on Route 9 in the Kinderhook Village.
Crafts, music, food and fun for all ages will be available.
Admission is free. The day also includes many other
events taking place in the Village including: 5K road
race, Farmers Market, Ichabod Crane Art Department exhibit,
Kinderhook Memorial Library book sale, Kinderhook Reformed
Church pancake breakfast, free tours of the James Vanderpoel

Flag
Day 2006 will take place on Saturday, June 10 from
noon to 11:00 pm. The rain date is June 11. The
events of the day will include: a kayak demonstration and
showcase, Carp fishing demonstration and workshop, historic
car and truck show, children's activities, parade and fireworks.

Information
Hawthorne Valley School will be running a July Kinder
Camp for children ages 4-7. Let your child
experience the riches of Hawthorne Valley in the summertime!
Activities will include nature crafts, songs, and stories;
sand and water play; and hikes and adventures in the fields,
forests, streams and farm of our beautiful 400-acre campus.
The camp will be offered in 1-week sessions from 9:00 am to
1:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The fee for each week
