This informal
luncheon series is sponsored by the Tourism Committee of the
Chamber of Commerce. The second luncheon for local tourism
leaders will be held on Wednesday, March 8 at 12:00 pm at The
Blue Plate Restaurant. A presentation will be given by
Lindenwald. Curator Patricia West will share her perspective
on the recent renovation of the Martin Van Buren home.
A light luncheon will be provided. The cost of the luncheon
is $15. Attendance will be limited. The next luncheon

The Agriculture Committee
of the Chamber will host an Agricultural Brunch on Wednesday,
March 15, 2006 from 11:00 - 12:30 pm. The brunch will
feature a panel of speakers including: Weir Stewart, Mary Gail
Biebel, Chris Cashen and Chuck Colaruotolo. The moderator will
be William Jordan. The brunch will be held at Kozel's

Lippera's at the Chatham
House will host
a Business After Hours on Thursday, March 23 from 5:00 - 7:00
pm. The Chatham House is historic 1859 Railroad Hotel
rebuilt and updated to a 21st century dining and shopping destination.
The Chatham House houses both a tavern and fine dining restaurant.

The
I LOVE NEW YORK 2006 Fall Festival will include Columbia County.
Empire State Development Chairman Charles A. Gargano announced
that Columbia and Greene Counties have been selected to co-host
the I LOVE NEW YORK 2006 Fall Festival, which will run from
September 23, 2006 through October 22, 2006. This year's
theme will be A Celebration of the Arts, History, Nature and
Culinary Finds in Columbia and Greene Counties. Columbia
County Board of Supervisors Chair Gerald Simons said, "We
are pleased to hear that the Governor designated Columbia
and Greene Counties to host the "I LOVE NY" Fall
Festival. We welcome our tourism visitors as they enjoy
the fall beauty of the Catskills and Hudson Valley."

On
March 6 the Columbia County Tourism Department will kick off
a pilot program to certify various lodging owners as "Concierge".
This rigorous program will require the 12 candidates to visit
key attractions and tourist destinations within the County.
Additionally, there will be a written test with over sixty
related historical and logistical questions. Those awarded
with "certification" will then be listed on the
County Tourism website and be recognized in a distinctive
reception by the Board of Supervisors Tourism & Historian

Dollars for Scholars of Taconic Hills is sponsoring a concert
to raise money for scholarships. The Earth Angels will
perform on March 24th and 25th at the Taconic Hills Performing
Arts Center. The doors open at 6:30 pm and the show
