Kinderhook Bank has opened a new banking center on Columbia Turnpike in East Greenbush that offers a bold new twist on retail banking.  Instead of a massive counter separating customers from tellers, it offers customer service consoles.  Rather than wait in lines behind stanchions with velvet ropes, customers find comfortable furniture, free WiFI service, iMacs for checking e-mail or browsing the web, and an LCD screen television.  In place of the dish of hard candies on the counter, the bank offers a full-service coffee bar, complimentary, of course.  And, perhaps most revolutionary of all, instead of tolerating children, the banking center invites them to have fun with a play area stocked with toys, activities and iMacs loaded with games while mom or dad conducts business.  Still, for customers on the run. there are new conveniences, like a full service ATM with check scanning capabilities, drive-thrus, coin counting equipment, and more.  For more information about Kinderhook Bank call 758-7101 or visit their website site at www.nubk.com.
