This morning Columbia County Chamber of Commerce President & CEO, David Colby resigned his position, effective May 1.

Colby will become the President & CEO of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce based in Clermont, Florida at the beginning of May.  David has been the President & CEO of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce since August of 2003.  In his tenure, Colby has lead the relocation of the Chamber to 1 North Front Street in Hudson, instituted the Best of Columbia County, initiated Columbia County Small Business Saturdays and has mobilized the view of business on local development projects.

“I appreciate the high level of support and cooperation I have received over the years from local business leaders, and elected officials.  It has been a pleasure serving the local business community.”, states Colby.  “Columbia County is a special place that will continue to grow and thrive.”

Colby will remain on staff with the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce through the end of April.  A selection committee is being formed by the Chamber Board of Directors and will begin the search for a new President & CEO immediately.
